Boise Vineyard Fellowship To Host National Evangelical Conference Addressing Environmental Issues

Contact: Dennis Mansfield, 208-353-3252; Blossom Johnston, 208-870-4040

BOISE, Id, July 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Tending The Garden National Conference on August 1-2, 2006 is the first of its kind to equip and train evangelical leaders and others to not only understand the biblical precedence behind environmental stewardship, but how the church can respond to recapture this foundational Christian value.

For hundreds of years, the Christian church championed the beauty of God’s creation, demonstrating in many ways how it points to the Creator. However, over the last century, the evangelical church has let the value of caring for creation slip away.

Learn how to make environmental stewardship a part of your ministry or organization. Hear from national leaders, authors and environmental experts:

o       Dr. Calvin DeWitt, Evangelical Environmental Network Co-founder

o       Tri Robinson, Vineyard Boise Senior Pastor and Author of Saving God’s Green Earth

o       Peter Illyn, Restoring Eden Executive Director

o       Bert Waggoner, Association of Vineyard Churches National Director

Expect to learn practical methods and gain new insight into resources and tools. This conference will help any program or organization develop or enhance their ability to address environmental issues from a Christian perspective.

Optional outreach experiences are also available to apply the knowledge gained through the conference workshops and symposiums.

To register visit www.letstendthegarden.org and click on the conference link. The cost for 2 full days of training, materials and lunch is $99 before July 18 and $119 after this date. The optional application outreaches include a local outreach on August 3rd for a cost of $30 or a two day wilderness outreach on August 3-4 for $75.
