WASHINGTON, March 28, 2022 /Christian Newswire/ -- Morgan Holmes was shot and killed in Washington, D.C. on March 9 as part of 5 shootings against homeless men in both Washington and New York City over the past month.
 
The "Celebration of Morgan Holmes' Life" will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at 12:00 PM. The location will be on the public sidewalk at the corner of 4th St. and New York Ave. NE. which is the exact spot where Morgan was killed (the north portion of the sidewalk).
 
The service is to emphasize the fact that all lives have dignity, value and purpose and should be celebrated and protected.

"You most likely never heard of Morgan Holmes. He was one of five homeless men in Washington and New York City who were shot by the same person. Sadly Morgan, along with one other, died from the shooting. Though Morgan was homeless, his life still had dignity, value and purpose just the same as yours and mine.
 
"Morgan was a son, husband father and grandfather. As a teenager in Philadelphia in the 1980s, he was already making a name for himself: an honors student, a star basketball player, a talented musician, a regular on a TV dance show, 'Dancin' on Air.' He got letters from all over, from fans of his dancing and from eager college admissions offices.
 
"We are gathering to celebrate his life and challenge everyone, especially people of faith, to love, pray and support marginalized and disenfranchised communities."
