Pastor George Saieg states:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ: What would your daily life look like if there were an active war in your country, state, or city? Would you walk out your door and leave all weapons and armor inside? Would you lie down for rest without preparing for a surprise attack? Would you ever let your guard down knowing the enemy was at war with you? Would you neglect your training, or worse receive the training and instructions and yet decide to ignore them? Would you feel nothing if your allies were butchered because it was not in your immediate territory? Those are behaviors we would never do if in a physical war. How many of us, however, are lackadaisical (lacking enthusiasm and determination; carelessly lazy) regarding the most important battles, those in the spiritual realm? How often are we neglecting our preparations for spiritual warfare (prayer, time in the Word, witnessing, and interceding for a lost world)?
Currently false arrests, torture, rape, executions (beheadings, crucifixions), kidnappings, exile from home and country are a daily threat for many Christians in other parts of the world. It is horrifying to us, yet has become background noise, rather than a call to action. These disturbing threats are in large part coming from Muslim governments, organizations and individuals. Yet, our media and our government tell us over and over again that Islam is a religion of peace. In Sura 9:29 of the Qur'an it says to fight (by the sword) Christians and Jews until they are willing to pay protection money and are completely subdued under the rule of Islam. There are many more disturbing verses and teachings in Islam that leave no room for the claim that violence has nothing to do with Islam. For examples of violent acts ordered by Muhammad please visit: www.MinistryToMuslims.com/the-truth-about-mohammad.html.
Therefore the Church needs to understand that our enemy is not the Muslims. They are the victims of the god of this world, the Father of all liars, Satan. (2 Corinthians 4:4) "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..." Also the (Qur'an 3:54) states, "And they deceived, and Allah deceived, and Allah is the best of all deceivers." Even though most Muslims are not our enemy, remember the words of our Lord (Matthew 5:44-45) "…bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven…"
What an incredible time in history for the church in America to live out the Truth of God! He has brought every nation of the Islamic world to our country. They are your neighbors, classmates, co-workers, doctors, and friends. As representatives of Christ God's Word instructs us that we should "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and…take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5). Elsewhere, God's Word states "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Eph. 6:12). Whether you can see it or not, there is a war waging all around you. Will you be taken captive to the pervasive lies of our time, or will you be "…more than conquerors through him who loved us" (Rom. 8:37).
