NEW BERLIN, Wis., July 15, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Archdiocese of St. Louis has named Liturgical Publications Inc (LPi) as a preferred provider of online giving tools for its more than 180 churches.

LPi's online donation management tool, WeShare allows parishioners to set up recurring payments, allocate varying amounts for different church funds, view their giving histories, and choose to use their checking account, debit card, or credit card. Church staff can accept pledge payments, run capital campaigns, and manage event ticketing entirely online--with much less time spent on bookkeeping then the manual systems they may now be using.

WeShare is different from other online tools in that it helps drive parishioners toward making donations online by making an emotional connection between their dollars and the church's ministry, while allowing churches to set up one place for parishioners to manage all of their donations to the parish. Catholic dioceses understand the value, as churches around the country are making the transition to online giving.

"With LPi's knowledge, experience, and reputation, we are excited to add them to the preferred supplier list for online giving," said Dave Baranowski, director of stewardship education for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

In an era where online financial transactions are becoming the norm, writing a check to church is one of the last paper checks many people write. LPi, a Wisconsin-based company with more than 40 years of experience helping churches engage their members, is helping parishes and parishioners around the country make this change quickly, efficiently, and successfully. WeShare processes donations for hundreds of churches, dioceses, and other nonprofits nationwide.

"The Archdiocese of St. Louis sets a high standard for functionality and financial controls for online donation service providers they partner with," said Tim Potrikus, LPi vice president of business development. "Being selected as a preferred vendor is a testament to WeShare's effectiveness as a tool for parishioners and parish staff. We look forward to partnering with churches in the archdiocese to serve their stewardship goals."
