STUDIO CITY, Calif., Jan. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Erik Estrada, the iconic star of the 70s TV phenomenon 'CHiPs' and 'The Surreal Life 2', who is now a celebrity cop on the hit reality show 'Armed & Famous', is a big fan of the Chrisagis Brothers Ministries.

Estrada says that over the last decade he and his wife [Nanette] have become like family with the Chrisagis brothers, who they met in 1996 when Estrada appeared on their TV series, The Good News Network. This is something Estrada is no stranger to himself. He said while playing freeway patrolman Francis Llewellyn "Ponch" Poncherello in more than 100 CHiPs episodes that aired from 1977-1983.

Now Estrada is living his childhood dream, which was to be a member of the New York City Police Department. The seven-episode 'Armed & Famous', which premiered on CBS on Wednesday, January 10 at 8PM ET/PT, follows Estrada, MTV star Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, The Osbournes star Jack Osbourne, former WWE wrestling champion Trish Stratus and singer LaToya Jackson as they worked their way through police training in Muncie, IN a city located northeast of Indianapolis.

Estrada's good friends, Brian and Shawn Chrisagis, began their careers in television with the creation of the critically-acclaimed Good News Gang Variety Series for Sky-Angel Network. Their first series, The Good News Network, which they wrote, directed and hosted for three years, won two educational awards.
