PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- Faith First Educational Assistance Corporation is holding its' first-ever celebration banquet to commemorate five years of giving parents scholarship assistance so that their children may receive a quality education. Faith First has awarded scholarships to over 300 students in the past five years.
The Faith First banquet will be held November 3, 2007 at Eastwick at the Meadows in Philadelphia, and is the only fundraising banquet the corporation has ever held. All support has come through donors and sponsors to date. Ticket donations are just $45.00. Dr. Alberta Wilson, president of Faith First, states that, "The Faith First Banquet is going to be a faith-builder, not only for us, but for every individual that attends and supports our efforts, whether that is through prayer, time, talent or treasure."
The keynote speaker, who is donating his time to Faith First, is Lawrence Reed, president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, which focuses on educational issues as part of their mission and has been instrumental in aiding Faith First with policy and procedures to help expand the corporation. The banquet will also honor Representative Annette "Polly" Williams of the 10th Assembly District in Milwaukee. Representative Williams is responsible in large part for bringing school choice all the way to the Supreme Court where the case was won, hence, school choice came to America.
Sponsors for Faith First's inaugural banquet include: the PA Family Institute, PA4Marriage, Alliance Defense Fund, Commonwealth Foundation, REACH, Let Freedom Ring, Hamilton Strategies, and Wonder Works Media.
