MONUMENT, Colorado, Nov. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- Trade magazines and industry insiders are finding visual and intellectual riches in Rebellion of Thought, a new documentary that "may end up being one of the best documentary films of the year… sure to cause waves in the world of Christianity." (Mike Furches--HollywoodJesus.com)
Exploration Films Distribution and Paladin Media Group are enjoying the critical acclaim for their "engaging look at the biggest challenge facing the 21st century church" as Wendell Burton (Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas) calls it. What began as an exploration of popular ideologies has quickly become a journey into life and faith and how people live their faith in the world around them… a controversial road movie for a post-modern culture.
Speaker and author Gary Smalley is convinced that the message of filmmakers Brad and Kent C. Williamson (The Brothers Williamson) is "…a powerful message that we all need to hear!"
In Rebellion of Thought, a critical look at the role of authentic faith in a post-modern culture, experts Gene Edward Veith, Jr., D.A. Carson, Jim Spiegel, Bruce Ellis Benson and Angus Menuge don't just dance around the edges of this mind-splitting phenomenon. They ask the searing, heart-rending yet necessary questions and offer some thoughtful and tangible solutions.
"Rebellion of Thought is provocative, stimulating and educational…" -- Nancy Wilson, Global Ambassador/Campus Crusade For Christ
What is post-modernism? How has it affected our culture? How will it impact our future? What is the role of the church in a post-modern world? Does man truly need God or is God merely a fairytale idea left-over from a past cultural experiment? These questions are the launching point for Rebellion of Thought as the Brothers Williamson examine a new generation that refuses to accept authority, code and convention.
The documentary is enhanced by music from a variety of new-music bands: Abby Someone, Inner Surge, Joniqa, Mixtapes for Girlfriends, Stereovolt, Verona, Audrey Hatcher Woodams and other artists, with the entire soundtrack (24 songs by 13 artists) available on the film's DVD.
"Visually and intellectually rich… Exciting and provocative… it will make big waves in the world of faith and spirituality!" -- Paul Wagner, Academy Award-winning Documentarian (The Stone Carvers)
The Brothers Williamson is comprised of Brad Williamson and Kent C. Williamson. Born and raised on the border of Mexico, they both grew up eating jalapeños and seeing the world through the lens of the camera. Kent spearheads the Paladin Media Group, a film and video production company committed to the creation, production, distribution, and promotion of redemptive entertainment and educational media. He dwells along the Blue Ridge Mountains with his bride and five kids.
