Opie and Anthony Should Be Fired

Contact: Don Swarthout, President, Christians Reviving America's Values (CRAVE), 859-219-1222, 859-619-2811

WASHINGTON, May 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Opie and Anthony have been suspended by XM Satellite Radio for 30 days for making offensive sexual comments.  Their suspension came after a bit about the raping of the Secretary of State, The First Lady and The Queen of England.

In fact, Opie and Anthony laughed as they imagined the look of horror on Condoleezza Rice's face if she were punched in the face during a violent sexual encounter.

Don Swarthout, President of Christians Reviving America's Values said, "So what if they weren't under our government's regulatory board because they were on satellite radio?  Opie and Anthony should be fired and never heard from again because what they said on the radio is blatantly offensive and so distasteful to the vast majority of Americans."

Don Imus was recently fired for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "a bunch of nappy headed ho's."  Opie and Anthony deserve to be fired for their comments about raping Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush and The Queen of England.

It is time for America to clean up all these ridiculous acts of Shock Jocks, Rap Musicians and anyone else who is in the entertainment business.

"If the idea of Condoleezza Rice being horrified as she is punched in the face during violent sex is not enough for these two to be summarily fired, then nothing is taboo on the radio in America today," Swarthout said.

"It is just that simple, that is the end of the story," Swarthout said.  "Whether they are under government regulation or not does not matter.  I do not accept the freedom of speech argument in this case.  These two men are citizens of this great country and being on the radio, they are role models. The vast majority of us find their hi-jinks to be extremely offensive."

"There bosses should fire them immediately if they really take their responsibility seriously," Swarthout said.
