Non-Profit Org Commitment to Build Schools in India, Seeks to End Human Trafficking through Education

YORBA LINDA, Calif., July 17, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- This Sunday with an event at the Friends Church campus in Yorba Linda, Calif., members and supporters will launch the NOT TODAY Coalition, a non-profit organization that seeks to end human trafficking in India.
The event will be held at the Friends Church campus in Yorba Linda, Calif. at noon, and will feature special guest Joseph D'souza, president of the Dalit Freedom Network in India, as well as various multimedia presentations. The Coalition takes its name from NOT TODAY -- the movie, a feature-length film, which released earlier this year, produced by Friends Media, highlighting the plight of human trafficking in India. Joseph D'souza is available for media interviews, as is Brent Martz, producer of NOT TODAY.
A Christian 501(c)3 organization, the NOT TODAY Coalition is seeking to provide education to half a million Dalit children in order to bring an end to human trafficking in India. The group aims to build 1,000 schools throughout India by the year 2025. Friends Church has already funded more than 40 schools. The coalition asks supporters to purchase the bricks used to build the schools, via their website at NotTodayCoalition.org.
The film NOT TODAY hit theaters in April, and stars Cody Longo (Hollywood Heights, Fame, Make It or Break It), John Schneider (OCTOBER BABY, Smallville, The Dukes of Hazzard), Shari Rigby (OCTOBER BABY, The Bold and the Beautiful), and Cassie Scerbo (Make It or Break It, Hot in Cleveland). NOT TODAY will release on DVD, Digital Download and On Demand on August 6th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Proceeds from NOT TODAY support the NOT TODAY Coalition.

Joseph D'souza is a human rights activist in India, focusing on the rights of Dalits. He is the international president of the Dalit Freedom Network and president of the All India Christian Council.
Brent Martz is a film producer and creative ministries pastor at Friends Church in Yorba Linda, Calif. His film project, NOT TODAY, currently in theaters, is set against the backdrop of human trafficking in India, and tells the story of one man's journey to redemption. He is also involved with the NOT TODAY Coalition.
