ORLANDO, Jan. 11, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Imagine a city the size of Des Moines, Iowa, but with no known believers and no church.

The most recent episode of MULTIPLY, a new web video series from Pioneers-USA, takes viewers to the country of Chad in Central Africa, where a church-planting team is meeting humanitarian needs and sharing the gospel with a Muslim people group of 200,000.

In the first episode of MULTIPLY, viewers journeyed to a city in Indonesia where partnership between Western missionaries and Indonesian church planters is bearing fruit among Muslim seekers.

But in Chad, the work is just beginning, and the challenges are geographical, cultural and spiritual.

"It's a challenge to live here," team leader David notes. "But a lot of the easier places to get to are already reached with the gospel. It's the places like this in the heart of Africa, the forgotten places, that are harder to get to."

The Pioneers team in Chad is addressing the humanitarian needs of their neighbors through medical care, teaching proper sanitation and working with well-drilling organizations to provide clean water for villagers.

Meeting physical needs often opens the doors for spiritual conversations with Muslim seekers.

"People are going through the motions of Islam, but in reality there's no deep spiritual fulfillment in their hearts," David explains. "People have been Muslim for hundreds of years and don't even think that there's an alternative to that."

Conversations, in turn, lead to discovery Bible studies, in which Muslims can explore the scriptures and investigate the claims of the gospel.

"Our hope," David says, "is that from these discovery Bible studies will come house churches that will be a very normal way of doing church here in Chad."

Future MULTIPLY videos will explore church planting among Muslims in the Middle East and immigrant communities living in Western countries--all with the goal of stimulating Christians to consider their biblical responsibility to bring the good news to Muslims, whether next door or on the other side of the world.
