DETROIT, Feb. 21, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The beginning of the Lenten season on Ash Wednesday is the most sacred time of year for Christians. Last year, over 11,000 of the faithful experienced a spiritual awakening during Lent at Living Stations, a remarkable and powerful musical presentation that has been described as the "Broadway version of the Passion of Christ" because of its professionalism, original musical score and epic theatrical production. The presentation of Living Stations is based on the Stations of the Cross celebrated by Pope John Paul II in 1991 on Good Friday; a visual realization of what Christ went through on the Cross.
Rehearsals for this annual presentation of Christ's passion are being held at Guardian Angel Church, 581 E. 14 Mile in Clawson on Ash Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Interested media representatives are invited to attend and meet cast members. Please enter through the door to the west of the church lobby and into the gymnasium where the rehearsal will be held.
Living Stations invites Christians, both Catholic and Protestant alike, for a spiritual wake-up call in preparation for Holy Week and is a musical journey through Christ's Passion and an interactive prayer engaging all of the senses. The music presented envelops and propels participants through the story and each feels truly present at the foot of the cross, not just as an observer, but as an active participant in salvation history.
Living Stations will be performed from March 16 to April 1 on the altar of the historic Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward in downtown Detroit.
School children and seniors enjoy the convenience of matinee show times, while families, church groups and individuals attend weekend performances.
