Christian Newswire/ -- On June 15-19, IndyCar veteran driver Davey Hamilton and Kingdom Racing's Founder George Del Canto will be racing together in the Indy Legends ProAm charity race at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The ProAm charity race pairs 33 veteran Indy 500 drivers with amateur racing partners driving Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs in a 45-minute race on the IMS road course. This year marks SVRA's Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational's third year at the Speedway. Over 500 vintage race cars, including those that competed in past Indianapolis 500s, NASCAR, Formula One, Can-Am, SCCA, and Trans-Am events will compete on both the historic speedway oval and road course during the weekend. Since debuting in 2014, the Indy Legends ProAm Charity race has raised over $100,000 for local charities.
Kingdom Racing will also be ministering to race fans and hosting Miles of Smiles groups throughout the weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Miles of Smiles is a dynamic and exciting outreach program run by Kingdom Racing at IndyCar events and other motorsports across North America. Families and individuals who have experienced hardships in life are nominated by local churches and Christian organizations to be Kingdom Racing's VIP guests at the race track. The mission of the Miles of Smiles program is to share the love of God to those who are discouraged, hurting, or broken.
About Kingdom Racing: Kingdom Racing is a 501(c)3 non-denominational Christian race team and ministry with a unique mission: to Deliver God's Word through Motorsports. We do this by combining IndyCar races and other motorsports along with our outreach ministry programs that minister to race fans and church nominated families. In 2008, Kingdom Racing made history as the first faith-vision team to ever compete in the Indianapolis 500 mile race. To date, we have three full seasons of IndyCar and nine years of race performance with IndyCar drivers Davey Hamilton, Simon Pagenaud, Sage Karam, Townsend Bell and Martin Plowman. Together, we have run nine consecutive Indy 500 mile races.
