MEDIA ADVISORY, Mar. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America of Missouri applauds Governor Blunt for ending taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood for breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings.
"Governor Blunt is correct in pulling the funding. The majority of Missourians are pro-life, and our taxpayer funds should not be funneled to abortion service providers even through legitimate programs. The women in Springfield and Joplin will be able to access important lifesaving screenings through entities that don't have ties to death-producing services such as abortion," said Bev Ehlen, Area Director for CWA of Missouri.
"We commend Gov. Blunt for ensuring that women get their tax-supported health needs from caring providers," said Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America. "Planned Parenthood was the wrong choice for this program."
