Biblical Betrothal Family Camp in South Georgia

Contact: Captain Bret, 678-570-2195

MOULTRIE, Georgia, April 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Homeschool Advantage is conducting a Biblical Betrothal Camp, May 25-27, at Calathora Farm in Moultrie, Georgia, and has created a website called www.BiblicalBetrothal.US.  When asked why, Captain Bret, the producer of Captain Bret's Christian Movie Show on the Faith Television Network and the president of The Homeschool Advantage, gave this statement:

"Modern western evangelical churches are facing a tremendous struggle today in the area of marriage relationships. The statistics should be alarming to church leaders. The divorce rate is more than 50% in the church, there is a growing number of unmarried couples in churches living in open fornication, church youth groups are rife with sex and unmarried pregnancies, and extended families are in turmoil as sons and daughters 'fall in love' and marry partners that distress their parents. It is high time for church leaders to seek the ancient paths, and return to teaching their flocks the godly principles of the biblical pattern of betrothal."

Opening session will be Friday night at 6pm, and the final session will conclude around 5pm on Sunday. The weekend's activities include the following:

  • Sessions by Captain Bret on both the biblical principles of betrothal and the practical application of them in modern American culture.

  • A session by Michael Morton, ordained elder in a Christian fellowship which meets in homes throughout south Georgia. Both Captain Bret & Michael Morton have walked through the process of biblical betrothal with their adult children.

  • A session for ladies conducted by Jacqueline Smith & Jeanine Morton.

  • Video sessions by Dr. S. M. Davis of Park Meadows Baptist Church and Jonathan Lindvall of Bold Christian Living.

  • Personal testimonies from Alan & Katie Smith and Michael & Kressant Morton, couples who have actually experienced a biblical betrothal and marriage. Alan & Katie now have a baby boy, and Michael & Kressant are expecting a child in July.

  • Sunday afternoon panel discussion to answer questions from the audience.

Registration is $90 per family, and includes 3 meals on Saturday, and 2 meals on Sunday. Men who are concerned about the marital health of American churches are encouraged to contact Captain Bret at 678-570-2195 to find out how to get involved.
