CINCINNATI, Ohio, March 10, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- pureHOPE will begin piloting in April its new video resource, Parenting in a Sexualized Culture, which answers questions like:
- What is God's design and purpose for sex?
- How and when do I talk to my kids about sex?
- Why is the one-time sex talk not enough?
- Why is porn so harmful?
- How does the abstinence message fall short?
- What do I do about all these tech gadgets invading my kids' lives?
Kids are growing up in a sexualized and digital age that is affecting their minds and hearts – it's a very different world than most of their parents grew up in. And the world is educating kids about sex every day. It's estimated that young people are exposed to over 14,000 sexualized messages each year and 93% of boys and 62% of girls are exposed to Internet pornography before the age of 18.
"We are parenting in the 21st century in an atmosphere that people have never experienced before. The pace of change, pressure on our families, distractions and temptations are so great. We, as parents, need new tools and strategies and new levels of encouragement from one another," said pureHOPE President, Noel Bouché.
The new video resource is being produced in response to the overwhelming demand for pureHOPE's in-person equipping events that have been held across the United States. The resource will include 4 teaching sessions (Foundation, Conversation, Technology, Legacy), a leader's guide and a small group study guide.
"pureHOPE equips parents to be able to provide answers and a different vision from what the world gives," stated Matthew Tuggle, Director of Family Ministry in Dallas, Texas.
Parents are God's chosen vessels to teach His truths about sex and studies show that kids want to hear from their parents about sex. pureHOPE gives parents the tools and confidence to become their kids "go-to person" on this topic.
