PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 28, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- The nation's leading publisher of Catholic worship resources unveils the third edition of "Glory & Praise." This new resource has a 50-year history of contemporary Catholic liturgical music, having helped establish the guitar-based "folk" style as mainstream during the post-Vatican II era.

"Glory & Praise, Third Edition" is one of Catholic music's most popular hymnals, carrying on the tradition of its predecessors with a repertoire of more than 750 titles from composers such as Bernadette Farrell, Bob Hurd, Tom Kendzia, Dan Schutte and more, with new additions David Haas and Marty Haugen.

"'Glory & Praise, Third Edition' reflects the continuing growth and development of liturgical music in North America," said John Limb, publisher of OCP. "The hymnal presents a common repertoire for the cross-generational, English-speaking communities of the Church today."

The new resource is comprised of traditional Catholic hymns, favorite songs from the '70s and '80s, a number of Spanish and bilingual songs for combined liturgical celebrations and new songs from "Breaking Bread" and "Spirit & Song." Also available is an edition with readings, which now includes the refrain melodies from the best-selling "Respond & Acclaim."

Besides the official International Commission on English in the Liturgy chants for the Order of Mass, "Glory & Praise, Third Edition" also offers eight of OCP's most popular Mass settings available today, including Curtis Stephan's Mass of Renewal, Christopher Walker's Celtic Mass and Dan Schutte's Mass of Christ the Savior.
