MEDIA ADVISORY, April 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- Pro-life advocates, including counselors, and ultrasound techs with EMC-Expectant Mother Care FrontLine Mobile Clinic #1, will reach out to late term expectant moms tomorrow morning at what is reportedly America's largest "former" partial birth abortion facility in the nation. Tomorrow, beginning at 7:30AM, at Metropolitan Medical Associate, located at 40 Engle St. in Englewood, NJ, EMC staff will be traveling in EMC's mobile ultrasound clinic and offering ultrasounds and assistance to women in crisis, women about to abort at the facility.
Press Conference and Event at Late-Term Abortion Mill
When: Wednesday, April 19, 7:30AM (Press Conference at 10 AM)
Where: Metropolitan Medical Associate, 40 Engle St., Englewood, NJ
Why: Rev. Pat Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, will host a 10AM conference joining with EMC, to implore the US Attorney to immediately enforce a cease and desist order on the owners of the major partial birth abortion operator to insure their compliance with the nationwide Partial Birth Abortion Ban upheld today by the US Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision.
"I am particularly thrilled, as a Roman Catholic, to see the five justices who share this pro-life faith tradition stand up for a Culture of Life by upholding the ban on the most horrific abortion method ever devised," said Chris Slattery, founder and President of New York City's oldest and largest alternative to abortion organization, with 15 crisis pregnancy sites in support of expectant mothers.
EMC recently began weekly trips with a crisis pregnancy team, to provide a safe haven to patients on their way into the Metropolitan abortion mill. EMC began this service following a month long closure of Metropolitan abortion mill by the NJ Department of Health after a woman patient was hospitalized and fell into a coma following an abortion in the facility.
Rev. Pat Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, stated, "This is the first legal crack in the crumbling Roe v. Wade foundation, and is the first, necessary step toward banning all the equally horrific practices of abortion in this nation. If partial-birth abortions are now unconstitutional, then we will work harder to ban all methods of abortion, even the early more common methods, and provide more alternatives to abortion.
"This decision also shows the importance of who sits on the United States Supreme Court and injects abortion and the Supreme Court into the 2008 Presidential elections as a major issue. It's my feeling that the composition of the Supreme Court and abortion may indeed be the number one issue in the 2008 Presidential election. It also shows the divide when the two leading Democratic Presidential candidates Senator Obama and Senator Clinton support partial-birth abortion. It shows how out of touch they are with the American public."
