PANAMA CITY, Florida. September 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today marks a day that changed our great nation and the people living in it. Six years ago our hearts were broken, but our resolve to make that day count in light of eternity soared. This tragedy called for the military might of nations to arise and the call came forth to the citizen soldier to come to their nation's aid once again. These citizen soldiers put down their chalk, shovels, computers, baby bottles and calculators and took up their posts. Things changed. Lives changed.
One changed life was that of Darrell Parsons, member of the Air National Guard. Within weeks of 9/11/2001, Darrell was activated with his home unit for full-time military duty.
After five years, Parsons was released from full-time military service. Darrell took his family's experience in publishing, retail and ministry to birth Parsons Publishing House which seeks to affect the lives of others in light of eternity. The press has a mission to empower believers to use their voice to impact the world around them.
The press plans to publish ten titles per year in the Christian non-fiction and fiction genres with special emphasis in praise and worship. The lineup will feature new titles by established authors and by debut writers. Parsons released his first book entitled, Release Your Words – Impact Your World. Another release was written by Dr. Gerald Doggett whose first release after forty years of ministry is entitled, Portrait of a Pastor's Heart. His second title in the Pastoral Care Series will be released in Spring 2008.
Another release includes veteran singer and songwriter, Ron Kenoly's The Priority of Praise and Worship. His popular music releases include: Jesus Is Alive, the gold-selling Lift Him Up, God is Able, Sing Out with One Voice and Dove Award-winning Welcome Home. His next book, entitled Effective Worship Leaders, will be released this fall.
Someone once said, "I'm convinced that tragedy wants to harden us and our mission is never to let it." Parsons' has accepted his mission to be silent no more about the victorious and life-changing power of Jesus Christ and the evidence is through his new Christian press. Parsons is a warrior for this nation and a warrior for the Kingdom of God.
