BATON ROUGE, La., Mar. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Pastor Grelan A. Muse Sr., founder of Emanuel and The Mainline Ministries Inc., has made community religion news a daily devotion with the creation of www.insidethepew.net, a nonprofit faith-based news Web site.
Muse said The Pew is a networking tool for churches, regardless of denomination and location.
"I believe that we are all part of the body of Christ. It is our Christian duty to effectively communicate with one another. The Pew will serve as a forum for us to share ideas. We cover all church-related news, from revivals to new congregations in town. Our goal is to make The Pew a household name."
The Web site premiered March 2, and fresh news is posted once a week.
"We have been received very well," he said. "Churches and ministries are glad there is a medium out there that will allow them to reach a greater audience."
Emanuel and The Mainline Ministries Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Baton Rouge, La., was founded by Muse in Maringouin, La., in 1998. Responding to God's love for mankind, the ministry is committed to developing a healthy community by improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of the individuals it serves. Since its existence, EMM has participated in several community projects in the Baton Rouge area.
In February, he appointed Tonya Whitaker as managing editor of The Pew. She will oversee the content of the site that caters to the religion communities of Louisiana and Texas.
"Tonya brings the journalism background and her drive to succeed to this exciting endeavor," Muse said. "Under her guidance, we will reach a lot of people and make a difference in the lives of individuals."
Muse said The Pew is a part of the vision revealed to him in helping communities and churches.
"This movement will continue to grow and influence lives. It's time to go back to the Bible and do what God tells us to do instead of doing what man tells us to do. It is time to work in God's vineyard. It is time to restore God's storehouse, not man's house."
