Knights of Columbus Leader to Address Pro-Life Conference at Georgetown: Hundreds of Students from around the United States to Attend

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Jan. 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- Carl A. Anderson, Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, will present a keynote address to the Cardinal O'Connor Conference on Life Jan. 21 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The lecture will be heard by more than 500 pro-life college and high school students from around the country gathered in the nation's capital for the 34th annual March for Life on Jan. 22.
Mr. Anderson, an attorney and an educator, was elected Supreme Knight of the 1.7 million-member Order in 2000. During the Reagan Administration, he served as Special Assistant to the President and acting director of the White House Office of Public Liaison. Subsequently, he served as a visiting professor of family law at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. Later, he became the founding vice president and first dean of the U.S. campus of this graduate school of theology now located at The Catholic University of America in Washington.
The Cardinal O'Connor Conference on Life, named in honor of Cardinal John O'Connor, late New York archbishop and outspoken advocate of the unborn, has hosted many prominent speakers in its eight-year history, including U.S. Representatives Henry Hyde and Chris Smith, and Senator Rick Santorum, Dr. Mildred Jefferson and Mother Agnes Mary Donovan S.V.. The conference is being cosponsored by Georgetown University Right to Life, Georgetown University Knights of Columbus and University Faculty for Life.
Mr. Anderson's presentation will take place in the Gaston Hall, located in Georgetown's Healy Hall at 2:30 p.m.
