OPINION, Feb. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- "March For Life: Same Time Next Year?" is a thoughtful analysis by Ed Burke, President, The Logos Institute. The full article is available from Mr. Burke at LOGOSEPB@gmail.com.  A synopsis of his review follows:

Early on the morning of Thursday, January 22, 2009, I set out with members of my Orthodox Christian Faith community, eager to travel into Washington, D.C. We were travelling to Washington to participate in the national March For Life, an annual event designed to call attention to and condemn the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that has resulted in the abortion of approximately 40 million children over the past 35 years. When we arrived in DC, we met friends from other Orthodox churches from around the country who accompanied us down to the Mall for the Rally and March to the Supreme Court.

The Rally and March were very well attended. Most estimates I heard mentioned 300,000 people as participants, from all over the United States. Yet, there was very little coverage of the March in the media, and even among participants there was a general sentiment that we would all be back marching next year, to mark another year in which almost a million babies had lost their lives through abortion. Some would argue that the lack of media coverage was due to a "liberal bias" in the media, a bias which is sympathetic to the "pro-choice" argument. While there may indeed be some merit to this argument, it is also true that the media are supposed to report on the "news." Did anything happen on January 22, 2009 at the March that was remarkably different than what happened at the March on January 22, 2008, January 22, 2007?, January 22, 1997? Were there any "results" to report? Was there any news?
