Christian Newswire/ -- "Catholic bishops should use their crosiers of office in the Trump-Clinton presidential battle for the soul of America," John M. Snyder said here today. "They should oppose Clinton and support Trump."
"Catholic Church officials truthfully proclaim the sinfulness of abortion and of voting for political candidates who promote abortion. Hillary is such a candidate. Last Friday, Clinton in a Planned Parenthood speech even saluted the abortionist Dr. Amna Dermish who once laughed about harvesting babies' brains.
"In the opinion of this practicing Catholic layman, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and individual bishops have an obligation publicly to oppose the Clinton candidacy. The only practical way to thwart that candidacy is to elect Donald Trump president."
"“Some church officials may find this difficult," Snyder admitted. "For decades many Catholics, including Catholic clergy, have felt an affinity for the Democratic Party. However, with its leaders' endorsement of abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and other reprehensible acts, that party has become a satanic entity."
Snyder noted that, on April 23, 2015, Hillary, keynoting the Women in the World Summit, said, "Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health and safe childbirth, and laws don't count for much if they're not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice – not just on paper. Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.
"As Bill Donohue of the Catholic League commented at the time, 'Hillary has a problem with the Catholic Church's teachings on abortion – they must be changed.'"
Snyder said, "A President Hillary Clinton would try to force the Catholic Church to accept and endorse morally unacceptable behavior. Catholics voting for Donald Trump could oppose effectively the election of Clinton to the presidency, and the dire consequences to faith, morality and conscience such an election would portend."
Last month, Snyder outlined reasons for Catholics to vote for Trump in a Selous Foundation for Public Policy Research column, (

Snyder said, "A President Clinton would persecute Catholics for their faith. Catholic Church officials and others must support Trump to preserve freedom of religion."
