MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 15, 2020 /
Christian Newswire/ -- In a time of international crisis (due to the Coronavirus pandemic, tornado and flood damage, and rising numbers of deaths and illnesses across the world), Memphis songwriter and Choir Director Herman Dickey offers the world a dose of musical pain medicine with the release of "I Am the Lord." Inspired by the experience of a friend who survived a battle with cancer, the song centers on God's existence as the Great Physician – our source of supernatural help! This soothing ballad appears as a part of the soon-to-be-released EP, "SONGS IN THE KEY OF WORSHIP" by Herman Dickey & Friends.
"I Am the Lord" is available on YouTube and Spotify currently, and will be available on all major digital platforms within the coming weeks.
In the early 90's (at the age of 24), Dickey made his songwriting debut with the worship ballad, "All You've Ever Been" which appeared on the Made Brand New project (1999) by Pure Gold Music Group artist Minister Tim Bailey & the Orange Mound Community Choir. Twenty-one years later, he returns to share from his collection of over 100 songs that have been penned since the introduction of his gift to the Gospel community. Produced by the phenomenal and award-winning Timothy P. Mason (TeaPhil Productions), "SONGS IN THE KEY OF WORSHIP" by Herman Dickey & Friends is a musical co-mingling of styles that offers a refreshing mix of Sunday morning choir music and worship infused with jazz & classical nuances, while unapologetically exalting the name of Jesus!
"I Am the Lord" is performed by a gifted group of heavy-hitting female vocalists, including Britné Brown Lauderdale, Danielle Ross, Ashley Mackey, Candise Marshall, Marilyn Turner, Cachet Morganfield, and the incomparable Anne K. Taylor (who also served as the vocal producer for the project). This song is guaranteed to become an instant favorite for those who love the sound of the Clark Sisters, the Anointed Pace Sisters, or Trin-I-Tee 5:7.
In times of sickness and uncertainty, "I Am the Lord" serenades the listener with declarations straight from the heart of God. Its powerful lyrics and soothing delivery remind us that He is Jehovah-Rapha...our God who heals.
