WASHINGTON, May 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today the Susan B. Anthony List launched a $50,000 radio ad campaign highlighting the pro-life record of Nevada U.S. Senatorial candidate Sue Lowden. This ad is part of a $1 million effort to educate Nevada voters.
"Sue Lowden is a committed pro-life leader, exactly the kind of leader for unborn children and women that we urgently need in the U.S. Senate," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony List. "Too often elected officials say one thing at home and vote another way in Washington. The Susan B. Anthony List is committed to making sure that Nevada voters know that there is a clear contrast between Harry Reid, who calls himself 'pro-life,' and the true pro-life leader that Sue Lowden has proven to be in the Nevada state senate. Unlike Reid, Sue Lowden will forcefully defend unborn children and women in the U.S. Senate."
Below is an excerpt from the radio ad which will run 70 times a day on weekdays through May 14:
This is a pivotal moment for America.
We've just seen the greatest expansion of abortion in decades.
Harry Reid's health care bill spends our tax dollars to pay for the death of unborn children.
More than ever, America needs committed pro-life leaders...leaders like Sue Lowden.
In the state senate Sue Lowden led the fight for legislation that required parents be notified if their teen daughter was seeking an abortion.
I know we can trust Sue Lowden to fight abortion. Call her at 702-302-4097, and thank her for being a pro-life champion.
The Nevada primary election is scheduled for June 8, 2010, where Lowden will face Danny Tarkanian and Sharron Angle.
In the general election, Sue Lowden will challenge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Despite running as a pro-life candidate, Senator Reid holds a 0% voting record with the National Right to Life Committee for the 111th Congress. In the recent healthcare debate, Reid refused to support authentic pro-life amendments. In the Fall of 2009, the Susan B. Anthony List spent $100,000 on commercials asking Harry Reid to keep abortion out of healthcare.
The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of Americans, over 280,000 residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
