Former ACLU Attorney to Challenge Barry Lynn in Public Debate

ASHEVILLE, NC, April 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Does the First Amendment prohibit a biblically based public policy? Rev. Barry Lynn, Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church & State says yes. Herb Titus, former ACLU attorney and renown defender of religious liberty, says no. Both men will hold a public debate in front of more than 1,000 attendees on Thursday evening, May 31, 2007.

 

Do biblical and natural records demonstrate that the earth is young (approximately 6,000 years) or old (billions of years)? Dr. Danny Faulkner, a Creationist and Professor of Astronomy and Physics at the University of South Carolina–Lancaster, believes that the Bible and science confirm that the earth is young. Dr. Hugh Ross, President and Director of Research of Reasons to Believe, believes that God created the earth billions of years ago. Both men will hold a public debate on Friday evening, June 1, 2007.

 

Both high-profile debates will be a part of American Vision's second annual Worldview Super Conference to be held May 30-June 2 at the Lifeway Ridgecrest Conference Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
