MIAMI, March 16, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Noted writer, producer and director of films George Lendeborg has launched a website to promote his latest film "Broken Heroes" is a touching movie about veterans of the war in Afghanistan and their continuing fight against post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD.
Many returning soldiers are battling the debilitating psychological condition on the home front but their stories have receded away from public knowledge, overshadowed by other domestic issues such as unemployment and rising prices. Broken Heroes, which is also written by Lendeborg, aims to raise awareness on the predicament these soldiers and their families are in and their faith in God that pulls them through in this war against a deadlier, more relentless enemy.
"Broken Heroes is a Christian movie about having faith in God, fully relying on Him. It is a touching story that we need to support," said Lendeborg.
The story revolves around veterans Steve, Jennifer and Wilson whose war experience left them bitter, broken and resentful. For these three American soldiers the war ended in Afghanistan, only to begin again once they return home, this time against a deadlier enemy called post traumatic stress disorder. They struggle to face the enemy within and had to rely on each other for support. But they cannot win this alone. This time they realize that it is God fighting for them, which draws them closer to Him and to each other -- a bond that is stronger than their shared experience on a foreign war has brought.
Principal photography on the film starts on June 1 this year. The project is being promoted through popular fund raising website www.kickstarter.com. Lendeborg looks to reach millions with the film through the Christian Film Production Company, he disclosed. For now, interested viewers may find information about the film on its website www.brokenheroes.net.
