MEDIA ADVISORY, May 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Steve Amerson, well-known Inspirational music artist will be singing at the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation's "In The Company of Heroes" Dinner Gala at the Georgia Aquarium on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Approximately 32 Medal of Honor recipients will be in attendance along with guests and the boards of directors of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Foundation.

Steve will be singing four selections including "Blades of Grass and Pure White Stones," a moving tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This song was composed by Senator Orrin Hatch, Lowell Alexander and Phil Naish. Other selections to be sung by Steve Amerson include "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America."

"The Medal of Honor" is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States. It is awarded to a person who, while a member of the Armed Services, distinguishes himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty.

The Foundation will present the 'John Reagan "Tex" McCrary Award,' given to a member of the media for distinguished service, excellence and unbiased coverage of the U. S. Military through journalism in peace and war to Kimberly Dozier who is a CBS News correspondent working primarily in Baghdad since August 2003. On Memorial Day 2006 while in Baghdad she and several others were victims of a car bombing. Four people were killed and she was seriously wounded, but recovered completely after multiple surgeries and months of physiotherapy.

The 'Circle of Honor Award' is given to an individual who has made profound contributions to our nation and its way of life and who epitomizes the principles of courage, sacrifice and patriotism in their actions. This year's award is presented to The Honorable Sam Nunn, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Office of the Nuclear Threat Initiative, and former United States Senator from Georgia for twenty-four years. Senator Nunn has also continued his service in the public policy arena as a distinguished professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech and as chairman of the board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.
