MIDDLETOWN, Conn., July 16, 2021 /
Christian Newswire/ -- On Friday, July 16, volunteers will hold two large banners on the sidewalks of the Portland Bridge over Route 9 and the Connecticut River, reaching commuters in both directions of traffic with the message that "Abortion takes a human life."
The volunteers will hold their banners on the overpass from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM as part of "National Pro-Life Bridges Day" that is taking place in 63 cities throughout the United States.
"All eyes will be on the Supreme Court this fall as they take up
Dobbs v. Jackson," said Dr. Elizabeth Rex, Executive Director of The Children First Foundation, who is organizing the banner display for Middletown.
"Our goal for National Pro-Life Bridges Day on July 16 is to highlight for Middletown area commuters what this major abortion case is really all about: the unnecessary and violent destruction of an innocent human life in every abortion," said Rex. "The Children First Foundation is dedicated to promoting and supporting ADOPTION as a positive choice for an unwanted pregnancy," she added. "Adoption is the fair and commonsense choice that respects a woman's right to choose as well as the child's right to life. Abortion is an unnecessary and barbaric choice that should be illegal because it takes the life of an innocent human being. Adoption and Safe Haven are positive and important alternatives for pregnant women and their unborn children. These two loving and compassionate choices deserve greater public awareness and support from all Americans."
This nationwide day of public outreach is being coordinated by the Chicago-based ProLife Action League.
Middletown, CT is one of 63 locations including: St. Petersburg, FL; Ann Arbor, MI; San Antonio, TX; Memphis, TN; and suburbs of Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, DC and 50 other towns and cities.
Organizers expect to double the total of more than one million commuters reached during the Pro-Life Bridges Day last year.
