George Weigel to Address Varied Reactions to Pope Francis at Prominent D.C. Catholic Dinner

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Catholic Information Center (CIC) will award its highest honor to papal biographer George Weigel at its second-annual Blessed John Paul II Award Dinner for the New Evangelization. Weigel will analyze the varied reactions to Pope Francis and explain what the Catholic Church's future outreach efforts will look like.

Nationally syndicated radio host and author Laura Ingraham will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The event is expected to draw nearly 400 Catholic leaders from across the country, including Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganó, former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Jim Nicholson, and University of Dallas President Thomas W. Keefe.
