MEDIA ADVISORY, April 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- Authorities in Southern California have identified a man they say opened fire at a Korean religious retreat, killing a woman and wounding a man before being beaten and disarmed in a fight with two other people.
As peaceful Christians, practicing our faith under the freedom America provides, we think this is the last place tragedy is supposed to happen. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Increasing violence in settings we perceive as "safe" are un-nerving the church, and other religious institutions.
As sheriff's spokesman Dennis Gutierrez said, "This is the last place this is supposed to happen."
As the violence to churches and other religious organizations continues to increase Church Security Solutions, LLC. (CSS) recommends that leaders be proactive to identify the threats that may exist both within and outside their walls.
Church Security Solutions, LLC. suggests that conducting a security audit of all venues the church may find itself in can mitigate risk.
