IFWE Launches New Website to Help Christians Integrate Faith, Work and Economics

Contact: Kristin Brown, Institute for Faith, Work & Economics, 703-962-7877

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 1, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- On the fourth anniversary since the organization's launch, the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics launched a new educational website for Christians featuring more than 1,200 pieces of original content, including blogs, videos, research articles, and podcasts.

IFWE executive director Hugh Whelchel said the new site is about reaching Christians who are struggling to find meaning and purpose in their work. "Too many Christians have disconnected their faith from their work," Whelchel said. "They believe their work doesn't matter to God, and as a result, they're not having an impact in the culture. Our site seeks to answer these heartfelt questions from a biblical perspective and equip Christians to help bring about biblical flourishing in the world around them."

The website highlights include:

  1. A new "responsive" design that enables visitors to easily read content no matter where they are or what device they're using.

  2. New "Learning Collections" that feature blogs, videos, podcasts and articles on some of IFWE's most popular content and topics, such as "the biblical meaning of success," "calling," "stewardship" and "wealth and poverty."

  3. A new "Media Library" featured on the Home, Learn, and Blog pages that allows for navigation of all IFWE content. Each article features an estimated time to read or watch the content ("4 minute read") which pops-up before you click on the article.

  4. Many of the most trafficked features of the organization's past site, including the daily blog, research articles, and easier access to some of IFWE's top videos on "Freedom, Fulfillment and Flourishing" on the About page.

The blogs and videos on IFWE's website are geared towards communicating biblical truths and equipping and inspiring Christians in the workplace as well as those in church and parachurch leadership.

Darrow Miller, co-founder of Disciple Nations Alliance, said, "I was thrilled when I saw [the "Freedom to Flourish" video], as it beautifully and powerfully answered the sacred/secular paradigm that has so disempowered the church and separated so many Christians from having a kingdom understanding of their work."

The Institute for Faith, Work & Economics (IFWE) is an educational organization that seeks to help Christians find fulfillment in their work and contribute to a free and flourishing society.
