Former Leader and Patriot Involved with 'Eagle Forum' and 'America's Future' Questions New Direction of Foundation

FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 20, 2021 /Christian Newswire/ -- The legacy of Phyllis Schlafly (Aug. 15, 1924 – Sept. 5, 2016) is one that has inspired and changed millions of lives for over nine decades. Mrs. Schlafly founded the Eagle Forum and the Republican National Coalition for Life, and was a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, "A Choice Not An Echo."

In a ten-year battle, Mrs. Schlafly led the pro-family movement to victory over the principal legislative goal of the radical feminists, called the Equal Rights Amendment.

Mrs. Schlafly was a lawyer and served as a member of the Commission on the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, 1985-1991, appointed by President Reagan.

Major General John K. Singlaub, U.S. Army (retired) was a board member of the Eagle Forum for over three decades. He was also the chairman of the America's Future foundation, a partner organization of the Eagle Forum, also founded by Phyllis Schlafly.

Major General Singlaub issued a statement today, questioning the new direction of the America's Future foundation:

"Today I, MG John K. Singlaub U.S. Army, retired, along with my family, announce that we will no longer be participating in the America's Future foundation.

"I always strive to protect the United States of America and our way of life; to preserve the free enterprise system, uphold Judeo Christian values and defend our constitutional form of government. I have spent most of my life in leadership positions in combat and otherwise difficult situations. I feel that I have an ability to recognize good leadership and I know how important it is to have someone representing you making right decisions. Good leaders are watchful and discerning while knowing it is key to recognize those that share your best interest and to keep those that do not at an arm's length.

"It is with regret that we no longer have any active role with the America's Future foundation and I implore the new leadership to follow the principles Phyllis Schlafly and I maintained to defend and preserve the unalienable rights of all persons.
