AURORA, Ill., August 24 /Christian Newswire/ --On Saturday, August 25 from 9:00-11:00 AM, a massive protest will take place at the nation's largest Planned Parenthood facility located at 3051 E. New York St. in Aurora, Illinois set to open on September 18th. The protest, organized by the Pro-Life Action League, is being promoted by local and national pro-life groups including the Illinois chapter of Concerned Women of America, Illinois Citizens for Life, Illinois Right to Life, Priests for Life and Operation Rescue. The National Organization for Women (NOW) has promised to counter-protest.

Tensions have increased in the community this week after two people were arrested Monday for assaulting pro-life activists participating in a prayer vigil at the clinic site. Last week, 35 pro-abortion protestors picketed at a meeting of over 400 pro-lifers including local businessman Jim Oberweis and State Senator Chris Lauzen. Organizers anticipate over 500 people will attend the protest Saturday.

"Aurora residents are coming out by the hundreds to tell the world they don't want Planned Parenthood in their city," said Eric Scheidler, Communications Director for the Pro-Life Action League and an Aurora resident. "We have already seen the deceptive tactics they used to get into our city and we don't want the same methods used on our children."

The protest will include four spheres of activity: the ongoing 40-day prayer vigil, a picket of the street in front of the clinic, a "Face the Truth Tour" on the busy intersection of New York Street and Eola Road where protestors will hold large pictures of unborn babies and huge graphic signs of aborted babies, and a leafleting drive throughout the neighborhood where the clinic is located.

"The people will tell the city council Saturday that they want to protect Aurora from this organization," continued Scheidler. "This is not the kind of place we want next to the local grocery store, the Starbucks or anywhere else. We want them out of our city."
