Christian Newswire/ -- We are living in an age of crisis and uncertainty in our economies, with potential wars, terrorism, racial tension, and in many other areas that we cannot control. We are hungry for peace in these times. Beginning on August 8, Kevin Hester, the Planter of The Shore Church in St. Joseph, Michigan, is asking once again that people all over the world, go 8 days gossip free signing a treaty with their words which can be destructive weapons. He is asking that they go gossip free in their talking, texting, tweeting, typing, and posting. Kevin believes gossip has caused more wars and division than anything else in human history and today it has become the only accepted and promoted form of bullying. Eight is the number of new beginnings and a fresh start and Kevin believes we all need one in this area. He believes that 8 days gossip free will help us all form a new more positive habit. We have all gossiped in person and many have through social media. We need to realize that once something is said or sent, it can never be retrieved and it can lead to devastating consequences. We all can take the lead in this battle. Even our political leaders and presidential candidates could be a public example for us and not engage in gossip by just sticking to the necessary facts. So far in 2015, we have seen one crisis after another and gossip, like other wars, doesn't care what race, religion, or political slant you are, it affects us all. While 8 is the number of new beginnings, this year the number 15 is the number of rest and deliverance and going gossip free will bring us all some much needed rest and deliverance from the drama that gossip brings.
Unfortunately, we are unable to get rid of all of the crisis in the world and the same is true with gossip, but if we can become more aware of it's devastation, we can make the world a little better place to live.
