MEDIA ADVISORY, May 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- Since 1957, Men With Vision (MWV) has been encouraging men to get involved in missions in tangible ways. A ministry of interdenominational missionary-sending organization World Gospel Mission (WGM), Men With Vision has been the catalyst for sending hundreds of missions teams, funding projects and ministries all over the world, and bringing a new awareness of missions to generations of people. Now, MWV is going international, starting with the country of Honduras.
"The national church in Honduras is a strong, mature body," said Todd Eckhardt, director of Homeland Ministries. "When we approached church leaders with the idea of introducing Men With Vision--or Hombres Con Vision--in Honduras, they were very interested."
Today, Hombres Con Vision has active chapters in five churches in Honduras, with four in the process of forming, and over 20 other churches have expressed interest. The groups meet together regularly, spending time in prayer and in discussion about how to reach their communities and beyond. They also do service projects together in their communities.
"Hombres Con Vision is a natural means by which the members of the Honduran church can become involved in missions and in community service," said Eckhardt. "As a whole, the church in Honduras is realizing that the gospel is multifaceted and should be integrated with every part of life. HCV helps the everyday member put this theology into practice."
