NASHVILLE, June 6, 2019 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Kingdom Youth (KY) Conferences Co-Founder Ryan Edberg—who once toured with Acquire The Fire and some of the world's most prominent Christian music artists as a vocalist and acoustic guitarist—has picked up the mantle to launch a national youth conference ministry targeting Generation Z, especially young people who feel abandoned, abused, broken and suicidal. "One of the major problems young people face today is lack of consistency at home and in the church; people keep revolving in and out of kids' lives. Even youth pastors use their position as a stepping-stone quitting in epidemic proportions after one or two years," said Edberg.
In 2016, Edberg began crisscrossing the nation with his Kingdom Youth Conferences' 2-day event, that not only features smoke and LED lights, but "where we make room for the Spirit to move and the Gospel message is the rock-solid foundation proclaimed in the lives of young people." KY highlights four key ministry thrusts designed to develop youth into mature Kingdom-minded disciples of Jesus Christ. The mission is inspired by the Apostle Paul's testimony in 1 Thessalonians 1:5: "Our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction."
About Kingdom Youth Conferences
On any given weekend, KY offers biblical, spirit-filled and engaging teaching from Edberg and some of today's most inspiring youth ministry leaders, including Todd White, Kemtal Glasgow, Joseph Zupetz, and Joel Bennett.
KY Welcomes Todd White Aug 2, Woodland Park, Colo.
On Aug 2, more than 3,000 teens are anticipated to gather at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colo., when powerhouse evangelist Todd White joins Kingdom Youth's lineup. White is known for his radical Christian conversion in 2004 from a lifestyle of drugs and atheism. Edberg and White share a likeminded approach to reproducing a 24/7 kingdom-lifestyle in young people. White will challenge them "to confront the barriers that hold them back from being who God created them to be. No one is excluded."
And, music is still important to Edberg and the teens Kingdom Youth Conferences targets. KY still partners with top music artists like Reckless Love Revelation, Shonlock, Bread of Stones and Verses, who understand what it means to worship. The goal is not only to lead students in worship but, to also teach them to worship. "It's not about playing a song and everyone singing together – worship is spending time with your Creator and letting Him know you love Him. We want worship to not just come through in the music of our youth but in their very lives," Edberg said.
In addition to ministry for students, KY offers tools to also grow leaders and parents. KY encourages youth leaders and parents to be involved and to make ministry moments with their students throughout every session and all year long.
"Acquire the Fire and other youth conferences may have temporarily vacated the church, but I believe we are not done in this country: The time is now to stir the next generation of youth culture for God on a national scale, and it looks different than before," said Ryan. "When you start to pour into young people, love them and stand with them, everything else works itself out."
