Evangelical Community Expected to Turn Out to Vote in Large Numbers

CHARLESTON, S.C., March 28, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Usually, when you gather a group of 45 local clergy into one room and engage them in a question and answer session on almost any topic you would find that there would be many topics on which they would disagree. There is, however, one pressing question on which at least 45 Lowcountry clergy agree. "Who should District 1 voters elect as our next representative to the US Congress?"

Clergy from all across District 1 are coming together in support of Curtis Bostic for Congress. This list of personal endorsements includes pastors from multiple denominations such as Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Church of God, Anglican, Holiness, Bible Church, and Non-Denominational. Finding widespread agreement in a group this broad is rare, but there seems to be a developing unity when it comes to deciding who to support in the upcoming District 1 Runoff.

"For many Lowcountry clergy, social and moral issues are their major concerns when deciding who to support in an election. Many local clergy are taking a stand and saying that issues like the sanctity of marriage, personal morality, honesty, & integrity are still virtues they expect in their representatives," stated Rev.
