AUSTIN, Texas, November 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- The staff at the new Christian social-networking site, Faithvine.com, wants to know, "What makes a Christian different from anybody else?" In fact, they are so sincere about getting answers to this question; they are paying $2,000 in cash prizes for the best articles submitted to the site!
"It seems that Christians are only known for what they're against, or even just by what they believe or don't believe," says Faithvine's Editorial Director David Brown. "We're curious about people's ideas on what makes Christians decidedly different in their daily lives from people who don't necessarily adopt Christian beliefs and customs."
Faithvine, which blends Christian social-networking and content of all types, was officially launched this past August. It is giving away $1,000 in cash to the person—from any faith background—who most clearly articulates his/her perspective on the question. Another $1,000 will be distributed among the Second through Fifth place winners.
The contest rules are straightforward; anyone from any faith background is welcome to participate. Articles are submitted through Faithvine.com, so registration is required, but it's completely free. Submissions must be less than 1,000 words in length and may not contain profanity or hate language of any kind. The contest, which was launched Nov. 13, 2007, will continue through the end of the year.
Since their social network is completely open to the influence of its members, Faithvine members will rank each article. Its staff will narrow the list to the top 25 articles which will then be re-voted on and narrowed to the top five prize winners. The winners will be contacted and paid directly by Faithvine's parent company, Red McCombs Media.
Faithvine.com is owned and operated by Red McCombs Media, which is sponsored by Mr. Red McCombs, co-founder of Clear Channel Communications. Access to the most interesting articles will be made available to the media as they are published. Visit www.faithvine.com/contest or contact David Brown via the information listed above for access to the winning articles and results of the contest.
