WASHINGTON, August 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- Tonight at 10 p.m., Dateline NBC with Ann Curry and Chris Hansen will air an investigative piece about sex trafficking that will feature Ambassador Mark Lagon, the newly-appointed director of the State Department's Trafficking in Person's office. The NBC program will trace the routes of sex trafficking in Southeast Asia.  It will show one victim's path from the Philippines to Malaysia.

Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of Concerned Women for America's Beverly LaHaye Institute, said, "This is an important program because it focuses the world's attention on modern-day slavery.  The news reporters will interview traffickers and involved officials to reveal some of the challenges that modern abolitionists face when trying to combat sex trafficking.  The program also highlights the ways that abolitionists help the victims of the horrible crime of human slavery.

"This program will be one of the first opportunities that Ambassador Lagon will have to explain the scourge of modern-day slavery and to describe the leadership that the United States is providing to end the problem both around the world and here at home."

Dateline NBC will have additional information on their website after the broadcast. Dr. Crouse encourages people to click on the website for that helpful information after viewing the program here.
