Baltimore: Obama's Lions' Den Experience

OPINION, Jan. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Gary McCullough, director of Christian Newswire:
At an annual retreat Republican lawmakers hold in Baltimore, President Barack Obama played the part of Daniel walking into the lions' den. Yet the parallel between the Daniel of the Bible and Barack of "The Rolling Stone" ended at the point of walking in.
Using the Clinton tactic of fluidly redefining terms, as in it depends on what you mean by "is," President Obama is well on his way to rescuing Jimmy Carter from the title, worst President.
The Baltimore meeting was a less boring sequel to his State of the Union address as Obama continued his condescending and elitist speech, interspersed with questions that decreased Obama's patience with the unwashed masses.
Obama exited his State of the Union speech with only one positive line; I will fight on. To the GOP in Baltimore he did his best to run with his lone plus by treating each question as a personal attack, then arguing how he is blame-free and the Republicans are at fault. Thus the Daniel in the den becomes the lion. Obama relied on his roar to distract from the lack of substance and failure to answer a question or pursue a point of common ground.
Speaking of lion dens and lie'n dens, I suggest the Supreme Court boycott the 2011 State of the Union address. I recommend such a course of action not to punish Obama but to illustrate to the world the foundational necessity of our country's separation of powers.
President Obama has set an example that our nation's leaders should be ultra-sensitive to America's standing in world opinion.  Our Justices should act accordingly. After being mocked by the President and then jeered by the Democrat legislators that engulfed them, the Supreme Court Justices should remove themselves from such a venue. The Justices should not sit at the feet of a President after this extreme lack of decorum, less we further damage the world's opinion of America.
Following the example of President Carter turning to his daughter Amy when facing a tough question, perhaps President Obama could seek Malia's and Sasha's advice.   This would be just one more step down the path President Obama has already chosen and secure the rescue of Carter. Once again we could bask in that legendary Jimmy Carter smile knowing he is no longer America's worst President.
