Liveprayer's Bill Keller Condemns the Terror Attack in Norway by a Supposed Christian
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 25, 2011 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Bill Keller, leader of the world's largest interactive Christian website for 12 years,
Liveprayer.com, with over 2.4 million subscribers worldwide reading his Daily Devotional, has condemned the Norway terror attack by a supposed Christian.
Anders Behring Breivik, who has been labeled by the press as a "fundamentalist Christian," is accused of last Friday's killing rampage that to date has claimed 93 lives. While Breivik claims to be a Protestant Christian, his 1500 page manifesto says that he is not religious, doesn't pray, doubts the very existence of God, and embraces Darwinism over the Biblical account of creation, stating "that science takes an undisputed precedence over Biblical teachings."
Keller immediately responded to press inquiries about the terror attack in Norway stating, "Just because this sick person claims to be a Christian, it doesn't mean he is. I condemn his actions and the Bible condemns his actions. These are not the actions of a true a follower of Jesus Christ."
When asked about what the difference is between the acts of terror committed by Breivik and those committed by those who claim to be of the Muslim faith Keller said, "The difference is simple. When someone like this man in Norway, or a Timothy McVeigh, commit acts of terror, they are doing so in complete contradiction to the teachings of the Bible. When a Muslim commits acts of terror or 'jihad,' they are doing so in complete obedience to what the Qu'ran and their false religion teaches."
Keller added, "When you see someone claiming to be a Christian bombing an abortion clinic, or killing an abortion doctor, or physically attacking someone who has chosen to engage in act of homosexuality, they are not following the teachings of Jesus of how the Bible tells us to live. However, when a Muslim commits acts of terror, killing innocent people, they are simply following the teachings of their false religion. Islam has a 1400 year recorded history of violence, terrorism, and death."
Keller has asked his 2.4 million subscribers to his Daily Devotional he has written every morning for 12 years to pray for the victims and families of this horrible tragedy in Norway, and to pray for the Lord to comfort them and their nation during this difficult time.
