Christian Newswire/ -- Finding positive inspiration and motivation can be difficult for many individuals in today's difficult times. In his new book, A Chosen Life Study: Conversations, Scriptures and Poems (published by AuthorHouse), author Bob Bowman offers his readers insight into his personal life and beliefs as a result of his revelatory near-death experience.
Bowman grew up on a farm in the Midwest with his loving parents and seven siblings. They lived a simple country life and were very active in their church. While he was always a spiritual man, Bowman did not always realize the importance of his faith. After a traumatic escape from the jaws of death 37 years ago, Bowman made the decision to turn his life over to Jesus in his hospital bed. Bowman writes:
"One day, as I was operating my small skid-loader tractor, I committed a careless mistake, one that trapped me between life and death. The arm of the loader pinned me against the frame of the tractor shutting off my supply of oxygen. I realized then, more than ever before, our need for God's special gift of fresh air, and how he sustains us each day, without our even giving Him Thanks for this life sustaining gift. As I lay there dying, I didn't even give Him thanks for the life he had sustained for forty one years, along with all the other special blessings I had received from his bountiful and abundant hand of mercy, His love, and His sacrifice."
A Chosen Life Study: Conversations, Scriptures, and Poems is meant as a guide to others, Christians and non-Christians alike. Bowman intends to show readers that opportunities and blessings in life are there for the taking, but it is up to each person to take advantage of these opportunities and blessings given to them.
