BELLEVUE, Neb., Sept. 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- Another former employee of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart has contacted Operation Rescue to tell of illegal acts that she witnessed and was instructed to commit during her employment at Carhart's Abortion and Contraception Clinic of Nebraska.

This woman, who has supplied an affidavit to Operation Rescue and Rescue the Heartland, is the sixth woman to come forward, and the fourth to put forward a sworn statement. Her affidavit will be submitted to the Nebraska Attorney General's office and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, as were the previous three affidavits.

"We want to emphasize that each of the affidavits, including this most recent one, contain testimony of criminal violations. Therefore, we repeat our request that the Attorney General's office conduct a careful criminal investigation within the confines of the law, and make the appropriate criminal charges as warranted by its investigation," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "This would be in addition to anything that is being done by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services."

The latest former abortion worker to come forward left her job voluntarily. She told Operation Rescue that she had no medical background but routinely assisted with surgeries, started IVs, and dispensed medication without the proper credentials. She also indicated that she believed that Carhart was, at times, chemically impaired while on duty.

Operation Rescue, Nebraskans United for Life, and Rescue the Heartland had filed a formal complaint against Carhart in July. In a letter from the Attorney General's office, the groups were informed that the complaint was forwarded to the DHHS for investigation to be monitored by the Attorney General. The groups later met with Attorney General Jon Bruning and submitted the affidavits.

"The picture these women paint of day-to-day activity at Carhart's abortion clinic is not a pretty one. Each day that goes by is another day when women's lives and health are placed at grave risk. Immediate action is needed to insure that the public is protected from illegal and unsafe practices that these women say are taking place at Carhart's abortion clinic," said Newman.

"As with the other whistleblowers, this woman's identity will not be released to the public for her own protection. However, she will fully cooperate with authorities during whatever investigation might take place."
