Pro-Life, Pro-Family Movie Attracting Supporters to Advent Film Group's 'Film Day'

Contact: George Escobar, 540-751-0518

MEDIA ADVISORY, Dec. 4 /Christian Newswire/ -- In an unusually open movie set, Advent Film Group (AFG) is inviting supporters, students, and filmmakers to attend a special AFG Film Day during its week-long "pickup" filming for "Come What May" scheduled for late January 2008. This first feature film from AFG has attracted attention because its cast and crew are predominantly homeschoolers and the movie features Patrick Henry College (PHC), a national powerhouse in debate and moot court competition. The movie centers on pro-life and pro-family issues fought in the U.S. Supreme Court and National Moot Court Championship.

Ex-Discovery executive and AFI Producing Fellow George Escobar, a homeschooling dad, launched AFG to train students who will one-day direct big-budget films with moral integrity.

Escobar says Advent's goal of rebuilding culture for Christ using an army of homeschoolers is beginning to draw support from the Christian community, pro-family, and pro-life groups across the country and abroad.

Escobar adds, "Our micro-budget movie, similar to "Facing The Giants" in scale and scope, fights its battle in courtrooms not gridirons, but the heart of the movie is the same: to put God at the center of our lives, win or lose.

Pickup filming is standard practice in Hollywood. It allows filmmakers to re-shoot scenes, add effects, and get additional footage for the film's final cut and for promotional purposes. What is unusual is AFG's open-set film schedule.

"It includes a special AFG FILM DAY. We're inviting supporters nationwide to join us, to be in the movie, and meet cast and crew. Final date, time, and location logistics are still in the works, but it will be a day between January 21-31, 2008 in Purcellville, VA," Escobar explains. "You must sign-up at our website: www.adventfilmgroup.com as we can only accommodate a limited number of invitations. It will be first-come, first-serve."

During AFG FILM DAY, attendees will receive movie posters, postcards, music CDs, and take photos with the cast. Many homeschooling families interested in filmmaking are coming," Escobar says. "This gives them a first-hand look at a movie set and perhaps join us for the next four movies we have scheduled over the next two years."
