COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- Biblica announces two strategic appointments to its global leadership team.
Effective October 5, 2009, Evelyn Lemly, former Executive VP of Development for Bible League, will join Biblica in the new position of President of Global Resource Development and Communications. And in June 2010, former Vida Publishers (Zondervan) President Esteban Fernandez will succeed Biblica Latin America Group Vice President Luciano Jaramillo Cárdenas, who is retiring after 20 years of directing and expanding Biblica's Latin America outreach.
Lemly will be responsible for expanding Biblica's Development and Communications areas globally. She brings broad experience in marketing, communication, and development. In her five-plus years with Bible League, she grew her team, with responsibility for integrated communications, database management, and fundraising initiatives for their global ministry.
"Evelyn's background and experience make her ideal for this new position," said Biblica Global President/CEO Keith Danby. "As a global organization, Biblica is increasingly aware of the importance of expanding our resource development and communication areas worldwide. I feel confident she is the right person to lead our team in this direction."
"I have long admired the work and ministry of Biblica, and I am delighted to join the Biblica team," Lemly said. "I look forward to contributing to Biblica's vision and mission to transform lives through God's Word--a mission that is dear to my heart."
Esteban Fernandez will assume the position of Latin America Group President in June 2010. Fernandez served 12 years as President of Vida Publishers, the Spanish division of Zondervan. He is well-known and respected in the Latin American community and has worked with Dr. Jaramillo on various book and Bible projects over the years.
"Biblica is immensely fortunate to have two such esteemed and gifted men head our Latin America initiative," Danby said. "Dr. Jaramillo is respected throughout Latin America for his leadership, scholarship, and pastoral care for the Latin American community. And in his tenure as president of Vida Publishers, Esteban raised the company's market standing and profile to become the leader in Spanish-language Christian literature."
"I am grateful for the door God opened for me to serve Him through Biblica. I know together we can serve the Church and our people with excellence," Fernandez said. "Biblica has a great mission, excellent products, and is truly God's team. It will be an honor to serve Jesus leading Biblica Latin America."
