MEDIA ADVISORY, Aug. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- In March 2008, Living Waters hosted its first Ambassadors' Academy--3 ½ days of intensive evangelism training. Fifty participants from around the world attended the first Academy. Since then, more than eight hundred people--including pilots, lawyers, pastors, and doctors--from forty-nine states and seven foreign countries, have attended one of the seventeen Ambassadors' Academies.
The ministry also produces the award-winning television program, "The Way of the Master,' hosted by Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. Tony Miano is the director of the Ambassadors' Alliance and the author of Take Up The Shield. He said, "Being a retired law enforcement veteran has fitted me for this task. This is front line action--as exciting as anything I ever experienced in my twenty years as a deputy sheriff. I've even been detained and cited while preaching on Hollywood Boulevard, during an Academy. It was quite a sobering experience to have handcuffs put on me, rather than me putting them on someone else."
The last 2010 Academy is August 25-28 and will mark the first one to be launched via a webinar that will go world-wide in an effort to train and mobilize tens of thousands of Christians to proclaim the gospel, in a single day.
Miano said, "Up until this time, Living Waters has not made the Academy day of classroom instruction available to the public. But now, through the use of the Internet, we will produce a day-long webinar of the classroom instruction provided to Academy participants."
This means that any church or group can freely receive life-changing evangelism training from Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, Emeal ("E.Z.") Zwayne, and other members of the Living Waters team.
"Our hope," Miano said, "is that churches around the world will participate in this free LIVE webinar by airing it at their churches; and then sending their own evangelism teams into their cities to reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. All it will take is a 'point man' to lead the way. While the Ambassadors' Academy is hitting the streets in southern California, churches around the world will hit the streets in their area--mobilizing thousands of Christians around the globe to proclaim the gospel to millions."
To help churches facilitate this world-wide event, Living Waters is providing the webinar at no cost, including free downloadable notes for each training session so the people participating in the webinar can take full advantage of the classroom instruction.
