STATEN ISLAND, NY, Oct. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- A new research study showing that childbirth may help protect women from developing breast cancer needs wide circulation say leaders of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, the nation's largest network of women and men testifying to the harm they endured from abortion.

"This latest research is more scientific evidence that abortion, aside from being emotionally and psychologically devastating for women, is physically dangerous as well," said Georgette Forney, Co-Founder of SNMAC.  "Women deserve to know the facts."

The study, conducted at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, found that fetal cells that transfer from the baby to the mother during gestation remain in the mother and help protect against breast cancer development.  Abortion would prevent the transfer of these protective cells.

"When the perfectly natural event of pregnancy is violently interrupted by the entirely unnatural event of induced pregnancy termination, common sense and science both tell us that there are consequences," added Janet Morana, another Co-Founder of SNMAC.  "Anyone who cares about women's health will want this new information to receive the widest circulation possible."

The research study appears in the latest journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 2,326 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at 189 gatherings in 44 states and six countries where more than 15,000 spectators have heard the truth about abortion's negative aftereffects.  More than 4,100 people are registered to be Silent No More.  Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign's goals.
