OPINION, Dec. 7, 2021 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Dr. Andrew Knight, Pastor of Constitution Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He is available for comment:

"Justices' Roe pledges now in doubt," Dec. 5th addition. Justice Brett Kavanaugh has taken a beating in the media since the Supreme Court heard the case from the Mississippi Solicitor General, Scott Stewart. Kavanaugh is an Irish Catholic, Jesuit trained (in his formative years), and frankly nobody should be surprised that he is committed to a Pro-Life perspective. The purpose of Senate hearings is to determine if a candidate for the Supreme Court is qualified.

Bad Law: Why did the Mississippi Solicitor General ever have to go to the Supreme Court to beg for a state issue? "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."(1) The High Court should have never rendered a decision on a legislative matter but returned it to a lower court in the relevant State.

Bad Medicine: Young physicians make a vow of the Hippocrates oath to their patients, dating back to the fifth century BC stated, "I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm."(2) If there was zero chance that abortion was not harmful there would have not been a fight over this bad practice for almost fifty years.

Bad Morals: Abortion is not new to humanity. Jeremiah 32:35 "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin."(3)

Concluding thoughts: The moral aspect of abortion is often pushed to the perimeter of society and certainly from the center of this debate. Not only can America not have LAW without morals it cannot have society without morals. Americans must consider biblical morality when deciding not to abort their children.
