In a Major Step Toward Creating Jewish Religious State of Judea, Conservatives Urge Israelis to Abandon Their Citizenship and Stay Behind Green Line as Stateless Refugees

JERUSALEM, April 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- Obadiah Shoher urged Jewish settlers to reject Israeli citizenship and legally convert their settlements into refugee camps under UNRWA auspices. Stateless Jews would have nowhere to go, and remain in the lands of Biblical importance after Palestinian state is created.
As Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria looms, religious Jews look for the ways to stay in the settlements they built in Biblical places. Israeli government originally used the settlements to stake the land occupied in 1967, but demolished Jewish towns in Sinai and Gaza as part of the peace process. Many religious Jews want to live in the lands of Judea and Samaria more than being citizens of the ecular state of Israel.
UN Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons allows the people without any citizenship to stay in places of their current residence. Israel evicted her citizens from Gaza, but cannot evict stateless refugees. The Convention guarantees personal and religious rights of stateless people. Palestinian refugees similarly live in camps-turned-towns for decades.
All Jews are entitled to live and work in Israel and receive her citizenship. Stateless Jews could continue to work in Israel and, in case of major aggression against their settlements, claim Israeli citizenship back. Jewish refugee camps will eventually develop from autonomy under Palestinian rule into the religious state of Judea.
