VANCOUVER, Wash., May 22, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC) has named Vancouver Bible Institute (VBI) as its Northwest Regional Training Center, and has formally certified VBI's Biblical Counselor Training Program.

IABC also named VBI Director Warren Lamb as its Northwest Area Coordinator. Pastor Lamb is lead instructor of VBI's Certified Biblical Counselor program, and has served as VBI's Director since its founding in 2004. He also is a pastor, Bible teacher, Biblical counselor, and experienced Mending The Soul facilitator trainer.

The Certified Biblical Counselor Program consists of 12 modules of classroom instruction with the goal of equipping students to provide lay counseling through churches and ministry organizations. Modules include Foundations in Biblical Counseling, Methods of Change, Marriage & Family Counseling, Sexual Brokenness, Abuse, and Crisis & Trauma Counseling. Classes meet weekly in the evening at VBI's center in Vancouver. Class modules may be taken in pursuit of the Biblical Counseling certification, or for independent study.
